An independent directory for flat and low-slope roofs

Low Slope Pros connects property owners in California with independent contractors who specialise in low-slope roofing. We are not a roofing company.

What we are

Low Slope Pros is an independent online directory and referral service. We publish city-level and county-level information about flat and low-slope roofing in California, and we operate a request form and a phone line that route enquiries to independent local professionals.

What we are not

This is the part that matters most, so we will be blunt about it:

Why low-slope specifically

Flat roofing is a genuinely different trade from pitched roofing, and the general contractor directories treat it as a footnote. Hot-air welding a TPO seam, splicing EPDM with primer and tape, cutting tapered insulation to correct ponding, detailing an HVAC curb or a parapet termination - none of these overlap much with laying concrete tile or composition shingle.

Southern California has an unusually deep stock of low-slope buildings: post-war tract housing with flat additions and garage conversions, mid-century homes, strip retail, light industrial, and the apartment blocks built from the 1960s onward. Those owners need contractors who work on membranes regularly, which is the filter this site exists to apply.

How the matching works

  1. You describe the roof, the problem and how urgent it is, through the form or by calling the line.
  2. We pass your request to independent low-slope contractors covering your area. Requests flagged as emergencies are routed first.
  3. Those contractors contact you directly. You compare their scopes and quotes and decide, or decide against all of them.

Using this service is free. There is no fee to you, no obligation, and no account to create. We may be compensated by contractors who receive referrals; that has no effect on what you pay and does not make us a party to any work you agree to.

Business listings and reviews

Where business listings appear on our city pages, they come from Google's Places data, including any ratings and review text Google supplies. We do not write reviews, we do not solicit them, and we do not publish invented ratings, testimonials or activity figures. If no cached listing data is available for a city, that section is simply not shown: we would rather display nothing than display something we made up.

Before you hire anyone

Verify the contractor's licence yourself at cslb.ca.gov. California requires a licensed contractor for any job where labour and materials together total $500 or more, roofing is the C-39 classification, and C-39 licensees are required to carry workers' compensation coverage even with no employees. Ask for a certificate of insurance, get the scope in writing, and be aware that California limits the down payment on a home improvement contract to $1,000 or 10 percent of the contract price, whichever is less.

Nothing on this site is legal, insurance or engineering advice. The technical material here is general background to help you ask better questions, the specification for your building has to come from a qualified professional who has actually looked at it.
